Associate Professor Biostatistics
Biography

Dr. Brown is an Associate Professor of Biostatistics at the University of Iowa, and obtained in Ph.D. in Biostatistics from the University of Iowa in 2015. In his faculty role, Dr. Brown leads research focused on computational techniques for complex health data. His work spans infectious disease modeling, where he developed spatial compartmental models initially applied to the West African Ebola outbreak, and longitudinal dynamic modeling of disease progression and immunological responses.

Dr. Brown currently serves as Co-Principal Investigator on an NIH R01 grant focused on geospatial modeling for stroke care and contributes to projects on cancer control and addiction recovery. His innovative statistical approaches have advanced our understanding of population health dynamics, with applications ranging from Lyme disease and leishmaniasis to HIV evolution.
